About the Author

In 1997, entrepreneur Scott R. Petersen and his former business partner sold their first company, freeing Scott up to fulfill a lifelong dream: an intense study of his lifetime interest. For the next five years, often 14 to 16 hours a day, he explored early Christian roots, beginning appropriately with Adam and Eve and then turning to the patriarchs and prophets who followed. This research led him to a detailed examination of each significant religious period in the history of Judeo-Christian theology and development. Though Scott is intimately conversant on the most critical historical-theological texts and exegetes, with all their academic trappings, he has written this volume from a layman's perspective, hoping to share in simple and understandable terms valuable insights into the early Christian church-its doctrine, development, and destiny.

Although Scott continues to research early Christian history, since writing this book he has returned to his entrepreneurial roots and is presently CEO of another successful business venture. He also serves on several business and philanthropic boards and is actively involved in developing collegiate entrepreneurs. Scott and his wife, Marilyn, are the parents of five children.
